July Favourites

From the previous monthly favourites videos and posts I have seen, I much prefer the ones where there is a mix of beauty and non-beauty favourites so I thought I would do that as well!

First off is the beauty favourites with two Barry M nail polishes. The first one is the colour Teal which as says on the bottle is a lovely teal colour which has a shimmer effect. The second one is from the gelly range called passion fruit which I mentioned in a previous post. I love both of these colours and think they are great to wear in the summer!
My next beauty favorite is The Firminator, special bikini body firming formula which is basically a cream that helps to tone your body! After reading reviews I decided to purchase this despite it being expensive for my price range! (£12) I've been using it on my legs and bum for the last few weeks once every day and I have actually noticed a difference and think it has done a good job of toning my problem areas.
This month I've also been loving my No7 cleansing water. I have oily skin and when I use this it just tightens my face (that sounds odd) and closes my pores and just leaves me shine free which I love!

Now for my non-beauty favourites. Firstly is the Extra white bubblemint gum. I love chewing gum but always find they lose their flavour so quickly but this one tastes amazing and it's flavour lasts much longer than normal chewing gum.

My next favourite is the wonka double dipped nerds in lemonade wild cherry and apple watermelon flavours. Now I'm pretty sure these are american sweets as I've only seen them being sold in the UK in river island and whsmith. These sweets are so addictive and just taste so yummy!
I'd heard a lot of this book (along with looking for alaska which I also have) on tumblr and twitter and how good it was so when I was in town the other week I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Even though I haven't finished it yet, from what I have read I can tell you it is such a good book. The story is about a girl with cancer who meets a boy at a support group and follows what happens with them. I really do recommend this book if you haven't already read it!

Now finally I'm going to put in two of my favourite songs of the month.
The first song is Best Song Ever by One Direction. I am such a big fan of them and just think this is another fab song from them. They can't do wrong!

My next favourite song of this month is Made In The USA by Demi Lovato. I am also a big fan of hers and think this is one of the best song of her album I love it!

What are any of your monthly favourites? x

Everyday Make-Up

Thought I would do an everyday make-up post as they seem to be quite popular! This is just a collection of the items I wear on a day to day basis, sometimes I'll wear less than this and sometimes I'll add something else.

The first thing I put on my face is my No7 Beautifully Matte foundation. I tried the Mac Studio Fix before this as both are designed for oily skin (me wooo) to keep you shine free. I personally think this one is better as it keeps you shine free without going the other way and making your skin go a bit dry and flaky as I found Mac Studio Fix did that (If that makes any sense at all, but yes some matte foundations do make my oily skin go a bit flaky!) I then put on the Lasting Perfection Concealer by Collection to any blemishes I have and under my eyes to cover dark circles.. I know everyone has this concealer and says how great it is, but it really is! It has such great coverage and lasts all day. Finally I apply my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder all over my face to set my make-up and keep me shine free.

The next thing I do is apply blusher/bronzer. In the summer I tend to use bronzer and in the winter I prefer to use blusher. I use the Collection Shimmer Shades in way to go for bronzer and apply it to my cheek bones, temples and jawline. For blusher I use the collection shimmer shades in blushalicious blusher. They both have really good pigmentation and for £4.19 each they are such a bargain as well!

I then go onto my eyes and and use a brow brush to comb through my eyebrows before I draw on my eyebrows with the Collection Eyebrow Definer pencil in blonde. I really like the eyebrow pencil as the colour is great to match with my blonde hair, just a light brown, nothing too dark. I think it's so important to fill in your eyebrows as it just frames your face and completes the whole look! Sometimes I wear eyeshadow and on other days I can't be bothered. I double up my Collection Shimmer Shades in way to go and use it for eyeshadow as well as bronzer. I just love the shimmery brown shades and think they are a lovely dupe for eyeshadow. Sometimes I wear liquid eyeliner ( Barry M's Blink Waterproof Precision) on my eyelid with an added flick as well as adding a pop of colour under my eyes with a colourful eyeliner like blue or purple (Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Shadow Stick). Finally on my eyes I use 17's Blowout Mascara. I've tried quite a few mascara's but I always seem to repurchase this one, it's got a lovely big brush which curls and lengthens your eyelashes without clumping them. I just love it!

Finally on my lips I apply Vaseline to keep them hydrated and soft before I put on any lip product. I own quite a few lipsticks but the main lipstick I use is the Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107. It's a lovely dark red/purple colour and it lasts a long time throughout the day as well as the pigmentation being amazing! The other lip product I use quite a lot is Rimmel's Apocolips Lip Lacquer in Nude Eclipse. It's like a lipgloss but with the colour pigmentation and I think it's lovely, especially if you're not a fan of lipstick, this is a great alternative!

That is all of the products I use on a day to day basis, what products do you use for your everyday make-up? Are any of them similar to mine? x

Real Techniques Brushes Review

Real Techniques Brushes
Real Techniques Stippling Brush (£10.99)
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (8.99)

Real Techniques Blush Brush (£9.99)

Obviously in the blogging and beauty world everyone and their Mother has or at least knows about these brushes, and after hearing about them for so so long, I decided to invest in some.

I first purchased the stippling brush a few months ago as this is the one people mainly talk about. Then last Saturday I went into my local Superdrug and they were having a buy one get one half price so I felt I couldn't pass it up! I ended up buying the expert face brush and the blush brush.

I used to use to stippling brush for foundation but I now use the expert face brush instead and I do find it is slightly easier and quicker to blend the foundation into the skin, and gives a better finish. With the stippling brush you have to work at it a bit more. I use the stippling brush to blend in my concealer and find this works pretty well! When it comes to the blush brush I actually use it to apply my bronzer as I feel it has a better shape suited for your cheekbone rather than the apple of  your cheeks where blush normally goes.

I love these brushes because they apply my make-up so well and make it look amazing! The brushes are also super soft which is lovely as you don't want something that's rough when it's going on your face and they are made up of synthetic taklon bristles which means they are cruelty free.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for some good quality make-up brushes that won't put a hole in your purse.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish

I went shopping yesterday and ended up buying 3 new Barry M nails polishes from my local boots. (Yes I now have 40 in total and yes I have a problem). This is one of the ones I purchased, called passion fruit from the Gelly Hi-Shine collection. These are slightly different from the normal Barry M polishes in the fact they have a thicker consistency meaning you only really need one coat to make it opaque. The polish is also very glossy and shiny so you don't need to put a topcoat over it. Despite this I still put one on just to make the polish last longer and even out any smudges or imperfections.

This polish is a sort of a coral colour, but with a slightly pink tone. It's such a bright shade and I think think it's a really lovely colour to wear in the summer which I would definitely recommend!

Jelly Shoes

So I ordered these jelly shoes from River Island on Saturday and they arrived today!
I've debated getting these for so long because they aren't to everyone's taste and I didn't know if they'd suit me and what I'd wear them with. I still wasn't 100% when they arrived but I tried them on and really like them! I personally think they look better on than by themselves and I'm really excited to figure out outfits I can pair them with. I think they'll be really cute with summer dresses and skirts.

Now I don't think I'll actually be able to wear them for a few days because last Thursday I managed to sprain my ankle (sigh) so it's swollen and just too tight on my foot :( I'm really excited for it to heal so I can start wearing them!

So here we are :) I'll probably be doing a variety of posts which will include reviews of beauty and fashion items, hauls, outfits of the days, and just posts on anything interesting I've done or anywhere interesting I've been that day. Hope you enjoy!
