Current Favourites || 2015

Here are a few of my current favourites which appear to be all make-up but at the end of this post I will be telling you some of my current favourite songs as I think it's a good way to get to know someone better by knowing what music they listen to, plus I always like to see music favourites when reading other bloggers' favourite posts!

My first make-up favourite is the Real Techniques Contour Brush. I love a good contour and highlight and find this is the perfect brush to sculpt my cheekbones for that signature Kim Kardashian look.

My next two favourites are both eyebrow related, the Collection Eyebrown Definer in Blonde which I use with the Sleek Eyebrow Kit in Light. I've recently been watching so many video on "perfect brows" so I can learn how to make mine look ama-z-ing and find these products help me achieve that perfect brow look I want.

I have also been loving lip liners (Kylie Jenner I blame you) but these two in particular which are MAC's lip pencil in Soar and Rimmel London's Exaggerate lip liner in Eastend Snob. The MAC one is a nudeish red whilst the Rimmel one is more pink toned, but both are lovely and very similar to what Kylie has been seen wearing herself!

My final make-up favourite is this Showgirl mascara by Barry M. I actually picked this up on one of Boots' "spend over £7 and get this mascara free" offer and wasn't expecting much but I've been using it ever since! Usually Maybelline mascaras are my favourite but this one is equally as good and I will most probably repurchase it when it's finished.

Now for my song favourites yay!!
First up is the soundtrack song from the new 50 Shades of Grey film (unlike most people I will NOT be going to see that film) called Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding. Such a catchy song that I always sing along to when I hear it on the radio.
I've also been loving the beautiful song by G.R.L. called Lighthouse which is a beautiful tribute to their fellow bandmate Simone who passed away last year. The lyrics, as well as the video is so lovely, I honestly can't watch the video without tearing up. Well done girls.
Lastly is a song by a guy who I've only recently discovered but instantly fell in love with his voice. Now mind he's only 16 (I think) but who cares about age? Talent has no limits. This song is called A Little Too Much by Shawn Mendes and I feel that a lot of people, especially young girls could relate to this song and the lyrics.

Go have a listen to all 3, I love them!

Current Favourites

I haven't done a "monthly" favourites post for a few months and it's a bit late for November favourites so I thought I'd just do a round up of my current favourites. I recently purchased the naked 2 palette by Urban Decay and I have to say I love it, so many amazing colours and finishes you can created so many different looks! Also been loving the Bourjois happy light matte primer, and the Maybelline mega plush volume express mascara. Both great products I've been using everyday this month. Now we can't have favourites post without a nail polish! This textured one called "Countess" from Barry M is yet another one I have added to my ever growing collection, don't think there is anything out there in the market like this so I would highly recommend trying it out. My last two favourites are One Direction related (oops sorry). Firstly is their most recent book titled "Where We Are" and even if you're not a big fan of One Direction or don't know much about them, this book would be a great place to start to get to know them haha. And finally is the One Direction perfume "Our Moment". Whenever I wear perfume I always go straight to this one, Daisy by Marc Jacobs has taken a back seat for the moment, which is funny because Our Moment actually reminds me of Daisy.

Hope you're all having a good time in the current festive season, Merry Christmas! x

Favourite Lip Products

(L-R) Baby Lips in Peach Kiss, Rimmel London Apocolips Lip Lacquer in Nude Eclipse, Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on The Beach, Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick in 05 and MAC lipstick in Snob
LUSH lip scrub in Bubblegum
I've had this scrub for quite and while and I can honestly say it does wonders for my lips, especially in the winter. You just gently rub it on your lips and it removes the dead skin leaving them super soft! What I love about this scrub is that it tastes just like bubblegum and as it's only sugar you can eat it after you've rubbed it on your lips! (haha that sounds quite odd).

Vaseline Limited Edition
in Pink Jubbly
After I've used the lip scrub I pop some vaseline on and the one I'm using at the moment is this Pink Jubbly one. No need to elaborate much on Vaseline, I think everyone knows how great it is and how much of saviour it is when our lips need their moisture back!

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss
These are a new edition to the UK high street, even though they've been around for a long time in the US and I instantly wanted to try them. I have this one and I also have the mint fresh one but I prefer this one as it gives a tiny hint of colour with a bit of shimmer. This range is super moisturising and I also think the packaging is really cute. Winner!

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 05
These seem to be the "drug store" lipstick of the moment, and it's not really a surprise to me. These are the normal lipsticks which add a sheen and there are also the matte lipsticks in the collection. I much prefer the normal ones as they don't dry out your lips like matte lipsticks do. This lipstick is a lovely peachy pink colour which I wear quite often as it goes with most make - up looks and is just a really nice colour.

MAC lipstick in Snob
I've been aware of MAC for a while, but never could justify paying a whopping £15 for a lipstick! But earlier this year I bit the bullet and picked the colour "snob". It's an amazing pink colour with blue undertones and is in the finish "satin" so glides on really easily and isn't drying. So glad I bought this as it's one of my favourite lipsticks!

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach
There are so many different versions of the lip crayons I just didn't really know which one to try out, but after reading many blog posts and watch quite a  few beauty videos that mentioned these ones by Bourjois, I decided to give them a go. This product has the pigment of a lipstick but the formula of a mix between a lipgloss, which I actually really like. The formula isn't drying at all and I think products like these are a little more wearable than lipsticks. I really want to try the other colours in this range!

Rimmel London Apocolips Lip Lacquer in Nude Eclipse
This is one of my favourite current lip products. It's a mix between a lipstick and a lipgloss, and has long lasting wear. This one is a nude colour which is great with pairing with a smokey eye look, and I also have one in pink as well. They've just released new shades which I would like to try out as these little beauties are so worth it!

September Favourites

It's that time again. I know everyone says it but I can't believe how quickly this year is going, only feels like yesterday I was at a New Year's Eve party thinking about the year ahead!
My first favourite is this L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin extra strength and sleep perfection Hairspray. Now I've been using Elnett hairspray for a very long time, but this one is in my favourites because the smell is so much nicer than the normal Elnett Hairspray! I don't know exactly what it is but I feel like this one has a sweeter smell whereas the other, in my opinion, just doesn't smell nice at all, which isn't very good when you keep getting a waft of it throughout the day.

My next favourite is the Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express mascara. I've been using the same mascara for over a year (Seventeen Blowout Mascara) and after watching many beauty guru's on Youtube who rave about Maybelline Mascara's, I knew I had to try one. This mascara is just fab, it lengthens lashes, and volumises them without clumping which I think everyone looks for in a mascara. The ONLY negative thing about this mascara is when I put it on the bottom lashes, it rubs off under my eyes and half way through the day I end up looking like a panda..

Another favourite of mine this month is the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on The Beach. This is just such a lovely colour, and the formula is so nice as well, it has the same coverage as a lipstick, but in glossy form! It's not drying on the lips and just feels and looks lovely!

When I went to London the other week, I went into Boots and after months of wanting one, I finally picked up a half pink half purple tangle teaser. This is different to your bog standard brush as you can use it on dry and wet hair without damaging it! It just glides through your hair getting out all the knots and tangles without pulling and I just think it's a great product. I definitely recommend!

My last beauty favourites of this month are two nail polishes. Both sort of nude colours with one being from Collection and the other Barry M (of course). The collection 2000 polish is in the colour "Milkshake" and is a lovely brown/pink/orange shade. I wore it the other day and it was so shiny unlike some other polishes which need a few coats of top coat to make it look half decent! It didn't chip and is just a lovely colour for Autumn time :) The Barry M polish is in the shade vanilla which I picked up whilst in London in the Topshop Oxford Circus branch and it has a matte finish which I love. This polish is also a great Autumn colour!

Now I have two favourite songs of the month, both from two lovely boybands!

The first is The Vamps - Can We Dance. Just a lovely catchy song that always gets me singing along!

Lastly is Lawson - Juliet. I am a big fan of Lawson and always think they bring out such great songs!

July Favourites

From the previous monthly favourites videos and posts I have seen, I much prefer the ones where there is a mix of beauty and non-beauty favourites so I thought I would do that as well!

First off is the beauty favourites with two Barry M nail polishes. The first one is the colour Teal which as says on the bottle is a lovely teal colour which has a shimmer effect. The second one is from the gelly range called passion fruit which I mentioned in a previous post. I love both of these colours and think they are great to wear in the summer!
My next beauty favorite is The Firminator, special bikini body firming formula which is basically a cream that helps to tone your body! After reading reviews I decided to purchase this despite it being expensive for my price range! (£12) I've been using it on my legs and bum for the last few weeks once every day and I have actually noticed a difference and think it has done a good job of toning my problem areas.
This month I've also been loving my No7 cleansing water. I have oily skin and when I use this it just tightens my face (that sounds odd) and closes my pores and just leaves me shine free which I love!

Now for my non-beauty favourites. Firstly is the Extra white bubblemint gum. I love chewing gum but always find they lose their flavour so quickly but this one tastes amazing and it's flavour lasts much longer than normal chewing gum.

My next favourite is the wonka double dipped nerds in lemonade wild cherry and apple watermelon flavours. Now I'm pretty sure these are american sweets as I've only seen them being sold in the UK in river island and whsmith. These sweets are so addictive and just taste so yummy!
I'd heard a lot of this book (along with looking for alaska which I also have) on tumblr and twitter and how good it was so when I was in town the other week I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Even though I haven't finished it yet, from what I have read I can tell you it is such a good book. The story is about a girl with cancer who meets a boy at a support group and follows what happens with them. I really do recommend this book if you haven't already read it!

Now finally I'm going to put in two of my favourite songs of the month.
The first song is Best Song Ever by One Direction. I am such a big fan of them and just think this is another fab song from them. They can't do wrong!

My next favourite song of this month is Made In The USA by Demi Lovato. I am also a big fan of hers and think this is one of the best song of her album I love it!
